Ren Faire in January, friends?! You’ll want sunny Florida for that. Renaissance Faires in the Winter, Spring and Fall seasons — every season but Summer? The answer is Florida again.

1. Bay Area Renaissance Festival:

Location: Dade City, Florida / Near Tampa
Dates: Mid-February and March, 7 Weekends

The Bay Area Renaissance Festival draws visitors into the colorful world of 16th-century England. Held annually, this faire features a lively marketplace, interactive shows, and thematic weekends that celebrate everything from pirates to time travel.

Week 3: BARKbarian Brew Fest – Dogs attend Free! Ha!
Week 4: Once Upon a Time

Other attractions include a pub crawl, pony rides, a butterfly experience, and a raptor show! Attendees can revel in jousting tournaments, partake in feasts fit for royalty, and immerse themselves in whimsy.


2. Florida Renaissance Festival:

Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida / Near Miami
Dates: February and March Weekends

Heading south to Deerfield Beach, the Florida Renaissance Festival promises an immersive experience for history enthusiasts and fantasy lovers alike. This event transforms Quiet Waters Park into a bustling medieval village, complete with artisan vendors, live entertainment, and themed weekends. From masquerade balls to fire-juggling acts, the Florida Renaissance Festival ensures a diverse range of activities for all ages.


3. Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire and Pirate Festival 

Location: Santa Rosa Fairgrounds, Milton, FL
Dates: March 2-3, 2024

Treat yourself to Jousting Knights from History Channels Full Metal Jousting!  Don’t miss out on swordfighters, jesters, jugglers, firebreathers, musical minstrels, belly dancers, and falconry! But that’s not all! You’ll also see pirates, conquistadores, Wild West gunslingers, Al Capones and 20’s Gangsters, and much, much more.

4. Camelot Days Medieval Festival:

Location: Hollywood, Florida / Between Miami and Fort Lauderdale
Dates: November, Three Weekends before Thanksgiving

Unlike other Florida Renaissance Faires, Camelot Days Medieval Festival offers a journey back to the legendary days of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Principal features include a living chess and a daily costume contents for adults and kids! Additionally there is lots of playful entertainment including knights and jesters, medieval games, and a bustling marketplace filled with handcrafted treasures.

5. Suncoast Renaissance Faire

Location: Sarasota Fairgrounds, FL
Dates: Nov. 18-19, 25-26, Dec. 2-3, 9-10

2024 will be the fifth Anniversary of the Suncoast Renaissance Faire, making it a relative newcomer among Ren Faires. It’s the place to witness a lot of singing, juggling, and dancing, some of it silly and some of it serious. Of course, there is jousting, sword fighting, knife throwing, and fire eating as well.

6. Sarasota Medieval Fair

New Location: Myakka City, Woods of Mallaranny, FL (Outside Tampa and Sarasota)
Dates: November, All Weekends

The Sarasota Medieval Fair announced a new 47-acre location for their 19th Annual event known as the Woods of Mallaranny and featuring oak trees and grass fields! This family-centered event is described as a rustic cultural and ceremonial reenactment of Medieval times. Experience demonstrations of traditional farming techniques, baking and cooking (such as smoked turkey legs, roasted nuts and corn, cheese turning, and making jam and cakes), blacksmithing, and equestrian performances. There are also a wide array of craft demonstrations such as weaving cloth, basket weaving, pottery, metal coin stamping, glass blowing, leather making, and more. For the younger visitors, Sarasota has animal rides, a children’s zoo, a hay maze, and storytelling.

Family friendly, authentic, full contact joust with Belgian, Percheron, Shire, and Clydesdale hours. Not a staged joust.

7. Brevard Renaissance Faire

Location: Forest of Wickham Park, Melbourne, Florida
Dates: January and Early-February, 2024
January 22 – Education Day

Each Weekend a Different Theme:

Week 3: Vikings
Week 4: Celtic
Week 5: Beerfest Weekend

8. Hoggetowne Medieval Faire:

Location: Gainesville, Florida / Northern Florida
Dates: January 27 and 28, 2024

In Gainesville, the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is a 37-year-old tradition organized by the Gainesville Department of Parks and Recreation. In 2025, they plan to hold a three-weekend event which is their typical format. Due to venue issues in 2024, they had a free event for a single weekend.

Hoggetowne Medieval Faire brings medieval history to life with a touch of fantasy. This faire boasts jousting competitions, a marketplace with handmade crafts, and costumed performers. Attendees can witness living chess matches, enjoy medieval music played on period instruments, and savor delectable treats such as turkey legs, blooming onions, sweet potato fries, ale and pastries. Children visiting the King and Queen will be made lords, ladies, dragon slayers or damsels of the royal court.
